Rotary Switch is a multi-position, multi-loop control of the main switch, mainly used for the conversion of various control lines.


The common band switch and the shift switch of the universal electric meter are Rotary Switches, which have two kinds of structure:


One is BBM(Break Before Make) contact type, which is characterized by the moving contact is first disconnected from the front contact and then connected to the back contact when transposition, during which there is a state that is disconnected from the front contact and the back contact.


The other is MBB(Make Before Break) contact type, which is characterized by a state of contact between the moving contact and the front contact and then disconnect the front contact and keep contact with the rear contact.

In the composition of the rotary switch, a rotating shaft is formed by the bottom through the top cover rotating handle, bottom plate and top cover clamped up and down to form a switch assembly. When we use it, can be 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, 225°, 270°, 315°, 360° rotation, each rotation to a position, moving contact connected to a different static contact, in the external terminal can output different states, so as to achieve control.


In the circuit design, it is necessary to choose the right rotary switch according to the circuit purpose and current size, as well as the operation safety.


Rotary switch because of its use, the overall use of sealed structure, will play a certain dust-proof and waterproof effect, basic can reach the IP65 waterproof level.


Rotary switch can be used to directly control the starting speed and reversing of small capacity motor. Can also be used for voltmeter, ammeter commutation measurement control, distribution device circuit conversion and remote control, etc.
